There's a misconception about Carthage baseball. A lot of people believe anybody could do the job and be as successful, but I can tell you it's not easy.

I think the big thing in coming to this baseball stadium, is it makes me like I'm back playing big league baseball again. We went to a lot of big-time parks and stadiums, and after all the big places I've been, when I come here I feel like I'm back there again.

I've got a good bunch of guys back from last year. Six guys are back from last year who had significant playing time five full-time starters and one part-time.

We might have ended up scoring more runs than we thought on both sides. I was real proud of our kids after we did give up the lead to come back in that seventh inning. Kyle Shipp and Eddie Jones came up with big hits.
