We receive at least 250 applications from Indiana, Ohio and Michigan for 25 seats each year. Not everyone can be a PA. It is not easy, and it's sometimes beyond the scope of ability for people to do it. When we look at applications, the main thing that stands out is 'do we want that person to take care of our parent?' Like a nurse practitioner, it is a higher level of care. You have to have an open and honest heart and sometimes we have to tell them there are other ways to help besides becoming a PA.
