chipping course golf good hours hurt knees range start takes three time walk work
It takes time to start where I started and try to work off all the flab. You have to give something up, and to me it was always the kind of thing that, 'Well, I can't do it because I've got to work on my game. I've got to work on my chipping, work on my driving. I've got to do something with my game.' I said, 'You know what, it's not going to do me any good at all if I can't walk the golf course because my knees hurt so bad.' I'll give up three hours a day of chipping or three hours on the range to make it so my knees don't hurt.
clutch extremely holes morning nine performed played poorly proud week
I just didn't play well. I played poorly this morning and poorly for the first nine holes this afternoon. But you know, Geoff played very well. You have to give him a lot of credit. He played extremely well and made a lot of clutch putts. I am proud of the way I performed this week though.
crazy happens paper pick stuff surreal
It was a very, very surreal experience. You pick up the paper every day and read about crazy stuff that happens to people.
beat catch change coming great knowing maybe mentally mindset pass
He's a great player, he's mentally strong, he doesn't beat himself. Therefore, if you're going to beat him, you've got to beat him?he's not going to lose. I think that does maybe ... change your mindset knowing that if you're behind, you've got to catch him and pass him?he's not coming the other way.
position spot
I'd like to be in a position to give my spot up if I had to.
nice two car
I've got one Aussie flag on my car. It would be nice to have two.
attitude best great learn less results time trying
I think the attitude I was trying to learn myself was to really try hard, to give a great effort, to really care, and to let the results go where they are going to go. But at the same time, I don't have to be happy, and I shouldn't be happy, with less than my best.
playing
I just can't stomach playing poorly. More than anything, I hate not getting the most out of my game.
I play with a lot of guys who say they're a five handicap, and they shoot 110. And then you play with guys who say they are a 20 and they shoot 75.
anywhere chance enjoy
I think it's easy to enjoy anywhere that you play where you feel like you got a chance to win a lot.
I think that more than the winning, the weeks where I don't play well are what drive me the most.
british mini open rewarding satisfying winning
The most satisfying accomplishment for me was winning the British Open in 1996. But the most rewarding times were the times on the mini tours.
putt
When I putt well, I do very well. When I putt poorly, I struggle to be in the game.
