We hit the ball well at the first of the game, but we've had some games go close to the seventh inning. We know we need to close out games sooner, and we're capable of it. I told the guys that after the game.

I had the opportunity to come in with these younger fellows as a partnership, so I accepted. I'm just happy to be a part of this bowling alley. It's going to be a family atmosphere and a lot of fun.

I don't like to categorize teams I coach, but I really like this one. I know every time out I'm going to get a great effort from each kid, and we got that tonight in a game where we needed it.

Shane did a great job out there today. He stayed ahead in most of his counts and really worked well. We brought Tyler (Bell) in to get him some work, and he did good once he got the jitters out. It's good to be in a situation where you can do that.

Anytime you get shut out and really get whipped, you really have extra incentive. This is an outstanding team we're playing. It's going to be a challenge, but we're looking forward to it.

We knew they were a great baseball team, and they did everything right to start. They had no walks, no errors and we couldn't run on them, but we've been behind before and that's why you play seven innings. We knew we could come back strong.
