eight games pound strike taken three trying year zone
This is what I'm always trying to do. It's taken three games this year to do it, but I always try to be aggressive, pound the strike zone and use the eight other fielders.
approach bad behind forward looking numbers poor putting record run support taking
I think I pitched a lot better than the numbers would indicate. I went out there and had a little bad luck, poor run support and my record happened. I'm looking forward to putting that behind me and taking a new approach with this team.
mistake
A mistake pitch. I wanted it down and in, something he'd have to chase.
lost six
It's been real tough. We've lost six in a row. This is no fun.
pitch
It was up in the zone. Not the pitch I wanted to make.
good
That one wasn't bad. It was in on his hands, where I wanted it. But he's a good hitter.
ball best chance close extra game knew pressure stay team
I didn't put any extra pressure on myself or anything like that. I knew it was going to be a close game so I had to give my team the best chance that I could to stay in the ball game.
aggressive last performance positive stay strike throw
I just want to have the same kind of performance I did last week. I'll just stay aggressive and throw positive strikes. Strike one is the key.
bat either good guy hitter pitches plate starting struggling swing turn whether
He's a good hitter and he's starting to swing the bat well. Whether the guy is struggling at the plate or he's hot, you always want to make your pitches because it can go either way at any time. If he's struggling, he's going to turn it around some time.
everybody hope thinking throws
What you hope is everybody throws well, and let them make the decision. I wanted to throw as well as I can and I wasn't thinking about anything else.
