We have a stretch run that we're coming up on and we need all of our guns, really, for that. And Cedric is a big part of what we're trying to do running the football. Other guys will have to pick up the slack until he gets back.
We would run a road, we would create a pad and we would run a pipe, so if we ever did need a treatment system and did need to hook up, we would be ready.
We know who Cedric is, and you don't draft a guy there unless you have plans for him down the line. But you have to go on what is happening right now. You have a running back who has rushed for 100 yards two games in a row. You can't kick him out of the house.
We know we have a good offensive team. We knew we could scramble back and pick up runs here and there. That's what we did.
When a song comes to you, you can't run around it.
This was a super win for us. We knew Tampa Catholic's game was to run and gun and shoot the 3s. We knew we had to attack on offense and keep the pressure on.
We need to narrow that gap between our fourth and fifth runner, and having said that, I think the kids gave 100 percent on an unbelievably tough course. This is almost a ridiculously hard course, one of the toughest courses we'll see all year. We really ran pretty well, and the runners gave in everything they had and left it all out there.
With this team, what you see is what you get. We?re playing with a lot of confidence right now, probably as much as we have all season. Our backs have been to the wall for a while and we were able to put together a nice little run here when we needed it the most.
