carry nice relieved uphill
I didn't think it was going to carry the lake. I was actually relieved it was in the bunker, and I had a nice uphill lie.
balance chest feet fell floating gush head hit knew lose lost neck picked seconds seen son three turned water wife
I didn't ever think I was going to lose my son and wife no never... no. A gush of water hit me in my chest and I lost my balance for about three seconds and when I did my son went over the back of my neck and over my wife's head and into the water. I turned around and I seen my wife go under. When I got to her I went under and I picked her feet up to hurl her up and she fell over. And she was floating to I knew she was dead,
course golf supposed tough
I didn't know that a tough golf course was supposed to be a lot of fun.
hit trying
I didn't know it was a record, I was just trying to go up there and get a hit every time.
feeling seemed
I didn't know, but I kind of had a feeling because we weren't for the landfill, and that seemed to be the issue.
andrew blind feeling found growing knew member minutes mourning regular sorry
I didn't know anything else but growing up with a blind person in the house. When we found out Andrew was blind, we had 20 minutes of mourning and feeling sorry for ourselves, and then we said, 'Look at my brother.' I knew what was ahead. I knew he was going to be just a regular member of the family.
doctor full impact injuries realize until
I didn't realize the full impact of the injuries until the doctor showed me the X-rays,
ocean reset-button giving
Every time I get a chance to be out in the ocean, it's like hitting a reset button for me where I just feel alive again, in perfect balance. Music can give me that, as well, but not as easily. The ocean is the way I know how to find it almost daily.
thinking important able
Some music, it's meant just to make you dance and be able to celebrate and get away from all that kind of thinking. And so, I think it is important if you think your music can do that - to keep doin' it.
song reading writing
I can never tell what's going to end up being on an album until it's all finished. I'm reading the news everyday, and sometimes I just have to be away from it. And that ends up writing the songs for me a little bit.
nice people community
To be part of a community feels really good - to be among people who have similar feelings and want to share thoughts. It's a nice feeling.
song simple people
Sometimes, the simple messages are the best thing music can do, really. Sometimes, songs can stir people up, motivate them to make change.
song thinking people
The songs themselves sometimes have messages and people can read into them different ways, but I try to use concerts as a way to gather people and then have information there. I think that's important to find that balance, a way to be able to turn people on to things at the shows, but also just have it be an entertainment experience for people who just want to hear music and dance and don't want the extra stuff.
couple fall writing
Sometimes I just start humming something, find a melody I like a lot, and if it sticks around for a couple days, a few words will lock themselves into place. I might just get the first line. Then words just keep falling into the syllables. The choruses kind of write themselves and verses I have to work at a little bit.
