What he looked for was parity and equality and respect, and I think that he did get. Now, the respect, yes, I don't know if we have the parity and the equality because there are still advertisers who don't think of Ebony. There are still advertisers who don't think of Jet. Where we have to go in and sell them and re-sell them constantly, constantly, but I think it's the respect of the white community, that's what he wanted. I want people to realize what he did for African-Americans; he gave us a face. He made people recognize the beauty in us, the intellect in us, and also the pride that we have.

It's kind of a harsh title, but at the same time it was very much inspired and influenced by what I kept seeing before my eyes on TV. It's impossible for me not to be affected by that.
