What he looked for was parity and equality and respect, and I think that he did get. Now, the respect, yes, I don't know if we have the parity and the equality because there are still advertisers who don't think of Ebony. There are still advertisers who don't think of Jet. Where we have to go in and sell them and re-sell them constantly, constantly, but I think it's the respect of the white community, that's what he wanted. I want people to realize what he did for African-Americans; he gave us a face. He made people recognize the beauty in us, the intellect in us, and also the pride that we have.

I think the Mavericks -- our team -- we've kind of forgotten who we are as basketball team and what made us successful. It wasn't shots on the offense. It wasn't holding the ball. I don't know. I know we've been a step slow. I can see that -- mentally and physically. We just need to get back to being who we are, and I think that will give us a better chance to win some of these games.
