I've always said I'd like to give management a crack one day, but I'm not ready for this big club yet. It's a massive club with a great following and whoever gets it right will have great job on their hands because it is a big, big football club.
I wanted to go the full distance, yes, but if I have to finish, then it's not a bad way to finish, coming to your local enemies and scoring a goal that's helped us get a 4-1 win.
A manager should be judged on results and he has guided us to the World Cup finals as he said he would do.
After being knocked out of the Champions League, which was a huge disappointment, the players sat down, had a meeting and said that the only way to get over that defeat was to win the UEFA Cup. That situation hasn't changed.
As far as I am concerned, nothing has changed. I will retire at the end of the season.
I was perhaps a bit hasty but did have the full intention to retire,
In the games I have seen, his touch has been good
If the manager said I wasn't going to be a regular I'd have to consider things,
Hopefully now, with the objective achieved, the players will relax a bit and you might see more style and flair.
I'm sure the public will be behind us. We all realize it's going to be a tough fight. We've got to roll our sleeves up and get three points tomorrow. We've got 26 points, we've got to have 29 by the time Saturday night comes along. Once we get on the pitch it's up to us.
It's a huge game for us. Defeat is not worth thinking about.
It's been far too long that this club has been without silverware, but we've got a great chance to change that,
They weren't frightened to put a tackle in and we had to be committed and get stuck in.
I've heard about offers from other clubs... and it's flattering. Obviously I'm doing something right.
