Let's keep trying to reach that higher ground. I forever want to reach that higher ground.
I pray to give thanks and to recognize all the good things that are in my life even during times of great change, confusion, or frustration.
I'd like to dedicate this to just thinking outside the box and not being afraid of who you are no matter what you do.
mixes the tuxedo a little bit with the formal.
I push them (offensive lineman) out of the way to tackle someone,
I'm in constant pursuit of growing and evolving.
Everyone on the set had been working on films for 20-plus years. I was enraptured.
Moments are so fleeting; I want to hold on to the good ones.
Even though I was telling myself I wasn't going to commit to anything because I wanted to take some time off, I was so moved by (the movie) and I really wanted to be involved. Beyond color, beyond being a black or white thing, it was just a human story about struggle and about overcoming when it seems the toughest.
If I know everything around the situation, all the facts, I feel like I can handle just about anything.
I thought I had to be perfect. I would often make choices I thought would make everyone else happy. I lived at a pace that was "good for my career," whether it was good for me or not. I have learned how important it is to check in with myself and listen, really listen.
I find that the love we share fills me up and makes me see and appreciate life in a different way.
It's a wonderful thing to see smart, creative women out there working hard and doing wonderful music and still having love for each other.
I definitely see the album being a little bit edgier. I feel like it's going to have a lot of political elements to it as well and be a bit more guitar-driven. The sound is definitely going to be different, but obviously the heart and soul of it is always going to remain consistent.
