Right now, I'm not in a position to be out there. I'm way less than 100 percent.
I knew it was on the bubble of getting really tough.
But he was, in his most difficult moments, more awkward than I anticipated.
Saturday is going to be a blast. The whole weekend is going to be a blast.
You come out and you know he will get his aces, ... My question was, what I do when I get my racket on the ball.
It's quite ironic that it turned out that way,
It's an incredible serve, ... The trajectory is the main issue because you're lunging but then it's up. You're sort of diving, but then you can't reach it, even if you dive perfectly on cue.
They were tough, tough conditions out there. It's too hard for me to move in those conditions. I wasn't penetrating and I wasn't reacting very well. It was a difficult day.
It's an incredible serve. A lot of guys can serve it 135-plus. The trajectory is the main issue. You're sort of diving, and then you can't reach it, even if you dive perfectly and on cue.
So to postpone that, for me, I never really considered it. When it was right, I did it. But that's how I do most things, unfortunately.
I was going to make him earn it, ... He was going to have to play another great set.
You can't always hope for matches to go that uneventfully.
I plan to return to the court as soon as my ankle is fully recovered.
So I go to the Open with the intention of hopefully bringing some inspiration to those who take a few hours out of their day to come watch me. That's what I look forward to.
