The team gave us a really good car despite the little practice time we had but we still don't have the straight-on speed we need. The rules still allow other manufacturers more of that speed. We could gain some of that back by taking off the wing but if you did that we'd have no grip - not a good idea. We're kind of stuck where we are right now; not bad but not great.

You need very good reliability and a car that has strength. Many of us are in the same boat this year with new cars and I think this is one of those races where we are not going to be giving up no matter what happens.

Last year I thought the field was as strong as it's ever been, and it's better this year. Unless you get absolutely everything right, there's no way you're going to win.
