bought few maturity maybe weeks
We never got frustrated. Maybe a few weeks ago, we would have. We've really bought into what will make us successful. ... We showed a lot of maturity tonight.
competition directly easy few four great job michigan played players preparing quite state step tough wonderful
I had a wonderful four years at Michigan State and they did a great job preparing me for the NHL. We played tough competition so it was pretty easy for me to step right in when I went to the NHL. I went directly to the NHL and quite a few other Michigan State players have done the same thing.
advance beer best chance due earn few gotten guys hockey hoping leagues loves minor open pick playing power recent scoring scouting tougher video
I'm hoping for power-play time, but you never know, ... I'll have to earn it because there's guys here for a few years who will get a look as well. Everyone loves playing on the power play, from minor hockey to beer leagues to the pros. The power play is where you can pick up your game. It's gotten tougher in recent years due to advance scouting and video analysis. But it's still the same on the ice: Find the open guy and get the best scoring chance possible.
bit coffin drive few final gave goals hang nail point sloppy turning
It was big. We let them hang around a little bit after being up by a few goals and we gave them a little bit of life. We got a little sloppy but we were able to drive the final nail in the coffin and that was a big turning point for us.
capable confidence goals matter scoring time top
I think we have a lot of confidence in our top two lines. We think we're capable of scoring goals and any time of the game. It's just a matter of getting it done.
mistake guy next
You can talk so much. The proof is how you compete to the guy next to you and if a guy makes a mistake, you've got to be there to pick him up and not put him down.
again downward fun hockey playing rough start traded washington york
We got off to a rough start in New York where I wasn't playing too much. Going to Washington I was having fun playing hockey again but got hurt. I got traded to L.A. and everything was a downward spiral.
challenge door face guys head room
We're not going to get in through the back door so we're going to have to face this challenge head on. That's how I see it and that's how the guys in the room see it, too.
chances early intensity match
We were able to match their intensity early and we got some big chances late.
hard hockey nice
Wes was a nice hockey player, hard working,
bit dug game ourselves welcome
Every game is big for us down the stretch. We've dug ourselves a little bit of a hole, but I think we welcome the challenge.
areas great guys hit job lull open playing quiet unless
My job is to get open ... hit the holes, the quiet areas and lull them to sleep. But you can't do that unless you're playing with two guys that are great with the puck.
bed east home playing travel
The travel in the East is a joke. There is no travel in the East. You're home and in bed by 1 o'clock a lot of times after playing a 'road game.
bit danny faith great hank landed open passing plays room short sure
There was a little bit of room on the short side. I just had to make sure it landed flat. I didn't want to get too excited, but once again, I've got a lot of faith in Danny and Hank's passing ability. I know that once I get open they make great plays and that's what Hank did.
