If there's an event, and something would happen where I thought I could enhance an event and play some kind of reasonable golf, I might do it, ... But I do not have any plans and am not making any plans at this point.
I'm getting to the point where I'm going to just sort of fade away,
I watch (Weir) a lot, it's not too far from normal after having a couple of good years, and really playing very well,
A golfer has to have mixed feelings about shooting his or her age. It's an exciting day when and if it happens, but it also means that you have to be up in years.
That became the talk of the town. They dropped the status of the Amateur, and I'm sorry they did that. How can you say Jones won the Grand Slam if you don't include the Amateur?
I suppose I appreciated Augusta more than anyone,
The fans motivated me. They gave me the incentive to want to play and to want to win and to continue to play as my career progressed. They were never a distraction.
I've been playing there since 1955, but now I'm not so sure.
Tell you what ... I'll wear it at the next tournament I play in.
I love the place, just love everything that happens there. But now, I'm not so sure. It's changed dramatically from the course I knew the last 50 years.
I was surprised. I asked the chairman, who's a friend of mine, 'What are you going to do about the people? Those fans are what make Augusta great.' 'Well, we can't make everybody happy.' That's what he said. Well, that affects me, and my thoughts about it.
Peter and I have been good friends for a long time and we've played a lot of golf together, in competition and otherwise. It's a relationship that has been ongoing for many, many years and once again, to have the opportunity to play as we will, it's going to be fun. I just hope I can keep him from being embarrassed by my poor golf.
I remember what a thrill it was to attend my first Champions Dinner. Just being in the same room with some of the guys I had admired growing up and to be there because I had won The Masters was quite an honor. I still attend the dinner every year and it is one of the highlights of my time at Augusta during Masters week.
Occasionally, I'll wake up and forget where I am, ... But when you get to my age, you forget a lot of things.
