danny guys people second super year
Some guys never get to a Super Bowl, and then there are people like Danny Marino who get there in their second year and don't get back.
anxious best control dan enjoy focused nervous stay stayed sure talked
I talked to Dan Marino. He told me to stay focused and that I'd get butterflies and be nervous and that there would be anxious feelings, but to make sure I stayed under control and not let it get the best of me. He said to enjoy it, have fun, because you never know if it's going to come back.
advice best cbs dan drive ends football game good jets kick lose losing opportunity smart trying win
I feel that I'm not losing the game for our team. I'm trying to give us the best opportunity to win the football game. I did everything I could to lose the Jets game but we won. And the Patriots game, I didn't play well. I think that this year, I just come out and play smart football. I got some good advice the other day (from CBS Sports' Dan Dierdorf): Every drive that ends in a kick is a good drive.
bowl dan enjoy second super trying year
Dan told me he made it to the Super Bowl in his second year in the league, and then never got back. He said to enjoy it and make the most of it, and that's what I am trying to do.

I promised him that I would get him four game balls. I'm glad that I could fulfill the promises that I made to him.
beard bit depression ended game kept lose lost mad next people shave until winning won
I was so mad that we lost the game. I kind of went into a depression and didn't shave and we ended up winning the next game. And I am kind of superstitious - just a little bit to people who know me - but we won that game and I said I am just going to keep it going until we lose and we kept it going. I don't really like the beard you know. But we were winning so I had to keep it going.
mastering
It is a growing-up process. I'm a long way from mastering anything.
clicking figure plays practice time worried
I'm not worried about it. I feel comfortable with where we're at. We're not clicking on all cylinders, but we're clicking on most cylinders. That's why this is the preseason. This is time for us to practice and figure out what we need to do to make the plays when it counts.
held high
He is going to be held to a very high standard,
mentally prepared step sure thrown time trying
I'm just trying to take it one step at a time and be better prepared for everything that is thrown my way and just making sure mentally that I'm sharp.
fixed great seen since stadium time
It's great to be back. This is the first time I've seen the stadium since they fixed it up.
balanced couple last offense proven stops throw win won
At the end of the season, everyone said if we had to throw and someone stops the run, we won't be able to win because we can't throw the ball. The last couple of games, we've won by throwing. When you put it on our shoulders, we've proven we're a balanced offense and we can throw.
gets hope offered
I offered him my condolences. I hope he gets well.
helps outside pocket running strong time
It helps some to be able to run. But traditionally, you don't get much (running) outside the pocket in the playoffs. It's a time when you try to play to your strengths. For most quarterbacks, running isn't a strong point, is it?
