attains faith gained gains mastery supreme
The one who has faith, and is sincere, and has mastery over the senses, gains this knowledge. Having gained this, one at once attains the supreme peace.
content lives minds remain talking unto
With their minds absorbed in Me, with their lives surrendered unto Me, always enlightening each other by talking about Me; they remain ever content and delighted.
bind desire fruits works
Works do not bind Me, because I have no desire for the fruits of work.
beings human types
There are two types of human beings in this world: the divine, and the demonic.
ancestors ancestry born ghosts
Worshippers of the demigods go to the demigods, the worshippers of the ancestors go to the ancestors, and the worshippers of the ghosts go to the ghosts, but My devotees come to Me (and are not born again).
brief divine extent
There is no end of My divine manifestations, O Arjuna. This is only a brief description by Me of the extent of My divine manifestations.
neither nor peace self-knowledge senses whose
There is neither Self-knowledge nor Self-perception to those whose senses are not under control. Without Self-perception there is no peace; and without peace there can be no happiness.
action five performs whatever whether
Whatever action, whether right or wrong, one performs by thought, word, and deed; these are its five causes.
fraction glory whatever
Whatever is endowed with glory, brilliance, and power; know that to be a manifestation of a fraction of My splendor.
ancient science secret sincere supreme today
Today I have described the same ancient science to you, because you are my sincere devotee and friend. Karma-yoga is a supreme secret indeed.
knowledge verily
Verily there is no purifier in this world like knowledge.
becomes course discovers knowledge purified verily within
Verily there is no purifier in this world like knowledge. One who becomes purified by Karma-yoga discovers this knowledge within (naturally) in course of time. (See also 4.31, and 5.06).
amongst attain certainly highest performing philosophy secret service shall supreme
The one who shall propagate this supreme secret philosophy amongst My devotees, shall be performing the highest devotional service to Me and shall certainly attain Me.
attachment dear free friend heat honor pleasure remains towards
The one who remains the same towards friend or foe, in honor or disgrace, in heat or cold, in pleasure or pain; who is free from attachment is dear to me.
