adjustment approach bit both face game goes planning second sides sure time
The first time you face someone, you are not sure how they are going to approach you on both sides of the ball. I think the second time through, you have a better sense of what they are about. So there is a little bit of adjustment that goes into the game planning on both sides of the ball.
barometer early game good
Certainly, ... I think it's a big game early in the season. It's a good barometer for us to see where we stand.
emotional football game gets guy harness joey leader love people plays respectful team unique
Joey is the emotional leader for our football team without question. He is the kind of guy that gets us going. We have some unique personalities and Joey is unique in his own sense. I've never been one to try and harness guys. I just want them to be respectful of the game and of the opponents. I love a team that plays with emotion, plays with passion. I love being around people that love to do that and Joey does it in his own way and without a doubt, Joey is the emotional leader for our team.
certainly couple game good james last looking ready spell
He's been looking pretty good the last couple of days. He's not ready to play a whole game and James will certainly spell him at times.
bottom game passing sync
Right now the passing game is not in sync and that's the bottom line.
caught deviate fact focus football game home looking mentally mind needs playoff prepare start team
I think it's very important you don't get caught up in all the 'what if' scenarios. I think our football team needs to prepare mentally to play this football game like it's a home playoff game. The fact is if we don't win, we may not go anywhere. If you get caught up, deviate from that focus and start looking at other scenarios, you start cluttering your mind with things that are very, very dangerous.
enjoy game next win
Right now, we just enjoy playing. We're just going to go on to the next game and we're going to try to find a way to win this next game.
coaches criticisms crossed feels felt game locker losing outside players quality start taking throw understand worse
No one feels worse about losing a game like that than the players and coaches in that locker room. They throw everything into it. No one felt worse than Tommy. I mean, this is a quality individual. We all understand the criticisms that come with this game and we understand that, but when you start taking it outside the field, to the house, to the kids, to me, you've crossed the line.
beat becomes fourth game longer ourselves striking within
That's the most important thing in my mind, to keep this game within striking distance, ... If we can do that and not beat ourselves and not give up some of the big plays, make them do things methodically and slowly, the longer we can keep this thing going into the fourth quarter. Then it becomes a play here or a play there.
early games good prove
The first two games have been a good start, but we have to prove we can do it consistently. Right now it's too early to make any judgments.
camp certain complement difference dramatic elements game perform plays prepare result stuff training
A lot of stuff we have done during training camp was done competitively. When you game plan, there are certain elements that you prepare for, certain things that you want to do. Certain plays will complement other plays. It's a pretty dramatic difference from that point. (But) we'll see. I'm not going to say that was the result of anything. You still have to go out and perform and do it.
certainly comments conspiracy game
Joey's comments at the end of the game were certainly made out of frustration. But there's no conspiracy or things of that nature. That's ridiculous.
casey defense game good great guy middle rock sideline solid teams uses
Casey has been so solid for us. He's kind of the rock in the middle of that defense and he's a guy that uses up two blockers. He's got great balance, he can still go sideline to sideline and has a good feel for the game and understands what teams are doing to him.
decisions game good looked
I thought the game slowed down for him this week. He made good decisions and looked comfortable out there. When you've been out that long, you have to get back up to game speed.
