exceeded field gained gives guy guys stands yard
For every yard that he's gained on the field, this guy, in my mind, has exceeded that off the field ? the kind of guy he is, the way he gives back and what he stands for. I've never been around too many guys like that.
accessible glad guys
I'm just glad that Joey's not accessible to you guys anymore.
consider fact guys reflective special teammates themselves
In my 14 years, I don't think we've ever had so many guys get votes. As I told the team, it was very reflective of what they thought of their teammates and the fact that they really do consider themselves a team. That is pretty special to get that many guys with two or more votes.
blocking danny defensive dirty guy offensive true week
Danny does all the dirty work. He's the guy who's out there blocking linebackers and defensive linemen ... Danny is a true fullback in every sense of the word. He's like an offensive lineman in the backfield. He's a guy who has been there for (us) week in and week out. He doesn't say a lot.
emotional football game gets guy harness joey leader love people plays respectful team unique
Joey is the emotional leader for our football team without question. He is the kind of guy that gets us going. We have some unique personalities and Joey is unique in his own sense. I've never been one to try and harness guys. I just want them to be respectful of the game and of the opponents. I love a team that plays with emotion, plays with passion. I love being around people that love to do that and Joey does it in his own way and without a doubt, Joey is the emotional leader for our team.
disrupt great guys line offense rhythm upbeat
These guys come up to the line of scrimmage and they're gone. They do a great job. It's an offense that is a rhythm offense, it's an upbeat offense, and we've got to find a way to disrupt it or else we could be in for a long day.
gets guy joey unique
Joey is the kind of guy who gets us going. We have some unique personalities, and Joey is unique in his own sense.
disrupt guys line offense rhythm
These guys come up to the line of scrimmage and they're gone. It's an offense that is a rhythm offense and we've got to find a way to disrupt it.
carved group guys niche proud team
These guys were so resilient. We're proud to be the team of the '70s, but we've carved our own little niche with this group right here.
due guys kept respect send thrived
It was 'Just tell us where we're going next, just send us off to another team. I think the guys thrived on that. With all due respect to Heinz Field, we just kept going off (on the road).
dependable good guys talk tough
You talk about guys who are unselfish, who are tough, and he exemplifies that. He's a tough player, a dependable player, and he's a really good player. I like tough players.
focus guys maybe underdogs
Maybe we focus better. Maybe there's a sense of urgency. We've been the underdogs and our guys relished that.
call easy guy
On fourth-and-1 and you have a guy like Jerome Bettis, it's an easy call to make, really.
available guy hesitant plan practice start time willie
I'd be hesitant to start a guy like Duce who has not had much practice time at all, ... You'd like to have him available if needed, but I think the plan right now, if Jerome (Bettis) can't go, well go with Verron (Haynes) and Willie (Parker).
