William "Bill" Laimbeer, Jr.is an American retired National Basketball Association player who spent most of his career with the Detroit Pistons. Teaming with Hall of Fame backcourt guards Isiah Thomas and Joe Dumars, Laimbeer won back to back NBA Championships in both 1989 and 1990. He is the current head coach of the WNBA's New York Liberty. I don't play them a lot of minutes. I have great starters. I have All-Stars, world champions.
I played in Joe Louis in a playoff game. I played there when the roof caved in for half a season. The facility is great for basketball because it goes straight up, so you feel like the fans are on top of you.
There was nothing magical that the coaching staff did. This is about the players.
They scored 26 points in three quarters. That's solid defense.
