apologize elite everybody finishing gives good impression last league second winning year
It gives everybody the impression that we didn't do that well. ... We had a good year last year. I don't think we should apologize for winning the league or finishing second the year before and going to the Elite Eight.
against league
We can't play like this against any league team, even at home, or we'll lose.
gratifying league since start worst
For us to have the worst league start since (1983) and then go 13-3 is probably more gratifying than if we had started out 10-0.
based best four great half jim job kansas last league perspective potential rick state team teams watched
From a coach's perspective, if I watched Jim Wooldridge's team or Rick Barnes' team, it makes a difference. Your job is based on how you do with the potential that you have. That's why I think Jim is a great coach. I think Kansas State is one of the best four teams in our league in the last half of the Big 12 season.
both created facing help league prepare provide styles teams
One thing they will do will be to provide our league with styles created more off of pressure, both offensively and defensively. That's something we haven't had much of. Facing different styles will help prepare teams for the post-season.
certainly eight knew league quick six successful turnaround wherever wins zero
I've never thought of that -- 'Is he a quick turnaround guy?' But he certainly has become that. I knew he would be very successful wherever he went, but I didn't know he would take UTEP from six to 24 or A&M from zero to eight in league wins -- and do it overnight, which is what he has done.
based best four great half jim job kansas last league lost potential state teams tough
Your job is based on how you do with the potential that you have. That's why I think Jim is a great coach. I think that Kansas State is one of the best four teams in our league in the last half of the Big 12 season. They have lost a lot of tough games.
leagues lit means parity people
I look around the county, and I see a lit of leagues like ours. With parity a lot of people think that means mediocrity.
deserving hope league policy recognized team whatever wins
I hope the policy is revisited because any team in our league that wins a championship is deserving of being recognized, any sport. Whatever championship it is, you should be recognized by your conference. Obviously, we were not.
accepted chemistry class far fought freshmen good guys league near obviously reason roles seniors
It's obviously not as decorated a class as they've had come through here, but as far as maximizing their abilities, these guys did it pretty well. One big reason why the freshmen have done better here and done so well in the league is because the seniors have accepted their roles and haven't fought it. If they had fought it, our chemistry wouldn't be near as good as it is.
frame game good guarantee mind next
I think that game did a lot for our confidence. It doesn't guarantee we're going to play well in the next game, but we're probably in about as good a frame of mind as we have been in all year.
bringing changes enhance positive
I think these changes will be positive for the conference. If anything, I think they will enhance it. Look at what we're bringing in.
decided instead last medical mother nuisance repair revealed slight staff throughout together week
Last week Keith complained of soreness is his knee. He had an MRI on Monday, which revealed some very slight cartilage damage. Keith, his mother and the medical staff then got together and decided to repair it now instead of having it be a nuisance throughout the season.
coached kids means oral rest roberts season teams telling
I think (conference tournaments) get teams (prepared) to play the whole year. I coached at Oral Roberts when it was an independent. Try telling those kids on Feb. 10 the rest of the season means something.
