closer inches plates rubber
If you go to a different ballpark, I know it's 60 feet, 6 inches from the rubber the plate, but the backgrounds are much different. Some plates look like they're closer than others. Some mounds are different than others. I really don't know ... there's no excuse.
basically behind looks nice putting second team trying
It was really nice for him to go out there and to basically just try to get after it. Just basically he's trying to get out there and be a part of the team and do what he can do. He looks like he's way on his way to, first of all, getting comfortable and, second of all, putting everything behind him. And like I said, getting after it and trying to get back with the team and be a part of it.
definitely knows
It's definitely on my mind, ... Who knows what's going to happen? A lot of my friends are not wealthy, and I don't know if they'll be able to get out.
business copy following last watching year
Just following these guys, watching them all year long, and even last year, it's just been great. I just try to copy the way they go about their business out there on the mound.
good hit roll
He hit good pitches. I can't even say much about it. He didn't even roll over on me. He just got under them. There's really nothing else I can say about it. Fastballs away, right where I wanted to put them.
against ball best guy innings knew leagues major nine starts sudden team throwing time
Here comes this guy who had nine or 10 starts in the major leagues and all of a sudden he's throwing 5 2/3 innings of no-hit ball against one of the best lineups in baseball. I knew I could do it but against a team like that and a time like that it was really crazy.
again balls definitely felt great ground left middle needed trying
I left some balls in the middle of the plate. I was trying to find it again today. For the most part, I felt pretty good. I got some ground balls when I needed to. I definitely wouldn't say it was a great outing.
count game hard innings pitch shame stay work
It's just a shame that I had to work so hard to get through the innings and get my pitch count up so I couldn't stay in the game a little longer.
ball game good outing team
I just want to go out there and give my team a good outing and keep us in the ball game as long as possible.
game less pitch runs series
I try to pitch every game like it's a World Series game, ... I try not to give up any runs and, if I do, to give up less runs than we score.
advantage balls couple home jamming life pitches took
My balls were moving, I had life on the fastball, and I was jamming them pretty much for most of the night. A couple of pitches they took advantage of, and that wasn't even the home runs. Those were just singles.
ask backed bullpen kept needed totally
You couldn't ask for anything more. They totally backed me up. I didn't do what I wanted to do today, but it doesn't matter. The bullpen kept us there where we needed to be, and we got some big hits.
came felt fifth game good telling truth
I don't know if he was telling me the truth or not, but he said he felt pretty good. He actually came up to me and told me I'm going to have a good game to set him up to have a good game on the fifth day.
It makes it really tough, especially when (Willis) is on a roll,
