This is the reason I came out for track. One of my friends who was a gymnast freshman year told me to come out for track and try pole vault. She told me if I pole vaulted, I wouldn't have to run. I wasn't very big into the running thing.

It's a lot of work. I put a lot of effort into it, but I really enjoy it. We have a great team with great coaches. They do a really good job of keeping all of my workout plans balanced.

I really enjoyed their coach and I knew Sarah from high school vaulting. Seeing how they helped her technique, I'm excited to work with them.

We're excited because we've been together since freshman year. I feel really comfortable with those girls. ... The thing we're concentrating on is getting as many girls down to state as possible. We're really big on the team aspect. I'm gonna run mostly relays because I want to help get as many of my teammates down there as possible.
