betrayed felt tough
I don't feel like they betrayed me. It's just a tough situation. I'm disappointed. I felt like I had done enough around here that they would keep me.
balls breaking feed threw
I didn't want to feed him fastballs. I threw him some breaking balls off the plate.
beneficial bit car close felt good leaving million obviously point signed wreck
I signed at a pretty good discount. They felt going year-to-year would be more beneficial for me financially. ... They felt like I was leaving close to $4 million on the table. But I could be in a car wreck tomorrow. So, at this point in my career, it's obviously benefiting me with a little bit of security.
came future guarantee near relative time trade vibe whatever
They didn't guarantee me anything, but the vibe I got from them from what they said to me was that they weren't going to trade me any time in the near future. That's relative to whatever you think the near future is, but I thought it came pretty quick.
deal love playing signed stay
I wouldn't have signed this deal in any other place. I love playing here and I want to stay here for my whole career.
earlier hang locked pitching starting tried
The starting pitching hasn't locked it down like it did earlier in the year, so I just tried to hang in there.
playing red somewhere soon turn tv
Probably as soon as I turn on the TV and see the Red Sox playing and I'll be playing somewhere else.
bit breathing compare easier eight facing feels game gives goes hole league mentally national nine pitch pitcher power tough wearing yankees
Facing the Yankees 19 times a year, that lineup is so power packed -- even the eight hole and nine hole sometimes. It's tough to pitch to. It's mentally wearing on you as the game goes on. For me to be over here in the National League, just to have the pitcher in the nine hole, gives me a little bit of breathing room. I don't think there's any lineup in the National League that can compare with that one. For me, it feels like it's easier to get over the hump.
coin pitch pitching
If I have to pitch out of the 'pen, I'll pitch out of the 'pen. The way I'm pitching right now, if it comes down to a coin flip, I'm going to lose.
baseball benefit love loved red
It was disappointing. I love being a baseball player. I love the city. I loved being a Red Sox. But it's a business. They do what they do to benefit the team.
anybody guys hit home league national realize runs traded
I didn't realize when I got traded over here that these guys scored more runs than anybody in the National League and hit more home runs than anybody. So, they put up some runs.
coach enjoy hands knowing laid looking nice personally pitching throwing unless
It's nice to have that familiarity, knowing how you should be looking and how you should be throwing the ball. I personally enjoy a pitching coach who's very laid back, very hands off for the most part, unless you have a problem.
definitely everybody hurt ways
Not having him around is probably definitely going to hurt us a little bit, but everybody is a professional around here and pretty much set in their ways anyway, so we're going to try to go forward.
feed kinda
It's fun, we kinda feed off each other,
