kids thinking car
It's one of those scenarios you feel will never happen to you. Nobody thinks they're going to be the one, whatever, to get in a car wreck to have their, you know, their kids killed in a plane crash, whatever, you don't think those things are going to happen to you. And I didn't think that I'd be traded. So.
We'll be all right if we can do that.
benefit less mind
That's the only benefit in my mind right now. It still doesn't make it any less disappointing to leave.
approach couple far felt few guys jason pitch pleased selection strong
I wasn't pleased with the results, but I felt strong in my first couple of innings. Working with Jason will take a few times to get on the same wavelength, as far as pitch selection and how I want to approach getting guys out.
kindness swing
I'm pretty much over it now. I'm kind of getting into the swing of things.
guess missing taking
I guess I was missing the location. I was taking it as serious, as a real game. I just didn't get it done.
deficit last night stay thinking tried
I just tried to stay focused, thinking about (Tim) Wakefield last night being able to come back from a five-run deficit and get a win,
balls double excitement felt huge tonight
I just felt like it was October, man. I could feel the excitement in the crowd, ... The two double play balls that I got tonight were huge for me.
hands maybe seems situation spent time vocal
I haven't spent that much time with him, but he seems maybe a little more hands on, maybe a little more vocal than Wally, but he realizes the situation he's in is probably going to be temporary.
ball chance earlier four gave hang hit home locked mistake pitching score starting stay tried
I gave up four runs, but it was on two home runs, two mistake pitches. Really, other than that, they didn?t hit the ball that hard. I just tried to stay focused. It?s been like that for us for a while. The starting pitching hasn?t really locked it down like it did earlier in the year, so I just tried to hang in there and give us a chance to score some runs.
anybody guys hit home league national realize runs traded
I didn't realize when I got traded over here that these guys scored more runs than anybody in the National League and hit more home runs than anybody. So, they put up some runs.
appreciate chance obviously took worked
He took a chance on me. Obviously it's worked out for me personally. I appreciate the opportunity.
base forgot funny looked might nobody pitch swung third
I immediately looked at Dale Sveum and forgot that he was my third base coach. He might have tipped him off or he might have just been aggressive. I don't know, but I thought it was funny nobody swung at that pitch all year.
against games good knew last looks race season sure three tight time yankees
I'm sure everyone looks at the standings at one time or another. We knew the Yankees would be there from Day 1. We knew it would be a tight race and it will probably come down to the last three games of the season against these guys. They're two good teams.
