affected ball
He couldn't feel the ball with his thumb. That really affected his location.
advantage bad ball clay excited kept mixed rotation taking victim
Clay was outstanding. He kept the ball down, mixed his pitches. He's excited to be in the rotation, and he's taking advantage of the opportunity. He was the victim of a little bad luck, but he's in the rotation to stay.
adam ball cash couple quite threw tough
It's a tough loss. I thought Adam (Eaton) threw the ball well. We just couldn't quite cash in on a couple of opportunities there.
ball couple fairly gotten luck tonight tough
I thought Woody, overall, pitched fairly well. He's gotten the ball up a couple times, but tonight he was better. He had some tough luck that first inning.
ball base hurt looking runs threw
Any runs you give up hurt you, but we got the ball we're looking for at first base and couldn't get them out at home. Pedro threw great. Give him credit.
ball dead surprised throwing
Because he thought the play was dead and he was throwing the ball out. I don't know why. We were as surprised as anybody.
ball both good sides
They're all such good athletes, ... and they play both sides of the ball so well.
ball behind care good hitter job nice normally press seeing selective
It's natural, I don't care how long you're in the game, to press a little. He's not being as selective as he normally is; he's not seeing the ball too well right now. He's too good a hitter -- he'll come out of it. He's doing a nice job behind the plate.
ball best card hot pitching playing teams wild
It's whoever's playing the best ball at the time, who's clicking, pitching the best, playing the best ball. That's why you have Wild Card teams get hot at the end and keep going.
adam bat expect guy hope last limit played speed throwing year
I expect to see the same guy I did last year. I hope they'll limit him to 30 or 40 games. That first at-bat off Adam Eaton last year was very impressive. The guy hadn't played all year and Eaton was throwing 93-94 and he doubled off the wall. That bat speed is always there.
saved score struggling
He saved us with that effort, ... especially the way we've been struggling to score runs.
excited makeup ready
This kid's makeup is off the charts, ... We're excited to have Jake all ready to go.

He's a major league player, a major league hitter. He's going to be back up here.
