nice problem second starting
It's starting to get better. We still had some lapses in the second half. That's the problem with our young guys. We get a little comfortable when we have a nice little lead.
extremely hard product
I think it's important to give them a product where we go out and play extremely hard every night,
asked fire guy players problem rod
Rod said the guy was the real deal, so I asked him why did he fire him. Rod said that he (Scott) had a problem with one of the players for something Byron said to the media.
both developing effective guys post productive stronger summer talked
Realistically, he's not going to play a whole lot at (center), because both those guys have been productive for us. But he's still going to get his chance. The things we talked about this summer were just getting stronger and developing a post game, as well. He's a big guy with a big body, and we want him to be effective down there on the post.
chance couple depends healing monday process
Monday is a possibility. It just depends on how well his process of healing goes. We didn't want to take a chance on these couple of games.
emphasis guys pro puts ready soon
Hopefully, one of them will be back soon - soon being Friday, It puts a lot more emphasis on guys to play a lot more minutes. But that's pro basketball. You've got to be ready to play.
defense fourth keys proud quickness team though took won
Our defense took over in the fourth quarter, and I was proud of the way our team played. Even though we won the game, we have a lot of things to learn. Our athleticism and quickness are the keys to our team, and we need to use them to our advantage.
basically matter proven
It's not a matter of can we do it. We've proven we can. It's a matter of will we do it. A lot of that is basically heart.
league oklahoma stern understand year
(NBA commissioner David) Stern and the league put us all in a bind. We understand the situation. We're going to play another year in Oklahoma City, and then after that we have no idea what's going to happen.
ford home loud
It was great. It was a lot like home at the Ford Center. When we had our little lulls, they were loud and got us back into it.
adjusting constantly everybody guys move shifting shock worn
I think guys are still adjusting a little, but I think the shock of the move has worn off. I think everybody here is pretty much settled. But just like me, you don't have everything from home, New Orleans, that you had, so you're constantly shifting stuff.
effort energy played
I thought (Bass) was going to go up there and at least make one. I thought he played really well tonight. There's a lot of things he still has to learn, but his energy and his effort were big for us.
chance city days fact felt few game guilty guys katrina last left
Just the fact that all of those guys had a chance to be here for a few days and get around the city and see some of the devastation that Katrina left made them feel a little guilty. I think the guys felt a little guilty after the last game that they had to come in and give a better effort.
believed destroy exactly last played remember time trying understand
I told them ... 'They remember the last time they played us and they're going to try to destroy us'. I don't think they believed me, but now I think they understand exactly what I was trying to say.
