In the end of the day, I feel pretty good about the contributions you can make.
baseball kids games
I love baseball. The game allowed me the influence to impact kids in a positive way. This gives me a chance to talk to some social issues.
player reality play
The reality is that players can't play forever.
people keep-going
I was always compared to the Energizer Bunny in my consecutive game streak because every day I showed up and went to work and they said he keeps going and going and going, but a lot of people do that.
effort trying wells
All I really try and do is live up to my potential and do as well as I possibly could and to bring to the ballpark each and every day a good effort and do the best that I could each and every day.

dad emotional might touch wish
It was an emotional night, an extraordinary moment, ... I wish Dad was there to touch and feel the stadium, but I think he might be with me now more than ever.
activity baseball dad field looking manager minor outside saw though traveled
Even though my dad was a manager in the minor leagues, I still traveled around with him and saw it from the field out. Now, as an owner, you're kind of looking from the whole baseball activity from outside in, from a fan's perspective.
dad minor people
My dad was part of the Oriole way. I think he was there 14 years in the minor leagues; I think seven of those years, they had the same people in place. So it was about continuity. It was about stability.
friend
He's a real person. He was genuine. He was considerate. He was everything a friend should be.
alex almost batting buying letting next parents seeing service talented
Parents see their pretty talented 7- or 8-year-old, and they immediately want to make him out to be the next Alex Rodriguez. They're seeing an end, and they think they're doing him a service by making him practice, buying a batting cage, not letting him play other sports. It's almost like the parents are seeing that as an investment, and I think that's counterproductive.
everybody expected surprised
I never expected all of this, ... I'm real surprised about everybody being here.
hope reason
shocked, surprised, just like everyone else. I hope there's a reason or an explanation.
