Carl Michael Edwards IIis an American professional stock car racing driver. He currently competes full-time in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, driving the No. 19 Toyota Camry for Joe Gibbs Racing. It would be more than I deserve at this point in my career, ... It was one of our goals heading into the season, but honestly at this point I don't expect it. It would be great, don't get me wrong, but if it doesn't happen I'm not going to get upset. There are a million reasons we shouldn't make it, looking back.

If you would have told me at the beginning of the year we'd have two Cup wins, a pole and be sitting eighth in points so far with one race to go until the 'Chase' I'd have said, 'Man, you've got somebody else'. I just didn't expect our year to go this well. Our primary goal this week is to make the 'Chase'. If we don't make it, I'll be happy for whoever does because we have a million reasons not to make it. But we really want to make it and I think we can.

It's obviously one of the most prestigious races you could participate in. ... To win it, I don't even know how big it would be. I think it would rank right there with a win at the Daytona 500. I know our guys would really enjoy it and it would mean a lot to everyone on the AAA team. For me, as a driver, it would just be the coolest thing in the world.
caution couple five laps needed won
I thought even going to the back we could get them. We've won a couple like that in the Busch Series, but it's a gamble. You know, everything has to go just right. We probably needed another caution there with about five laps to go.
dare gonna races wished
I thought we were going to get it. When we look back at the end of the year, this is gonna be one of those races where we wished we had more like it. I dare not complain.
