I would give anything to be able to have another opportunity to play in this tournament. If it meant going to some kind of camp on Feb. 1, I'd go.
It does show we're going back to normalcy when Met fans begin booing again.
I almost wish we could have stayed around till tomorrow. I'd love to see what the papers are gonna say about us now.
Don Baylor used to say, 'Don't take batting practice. Just show up, get dressed, stay loose and go out there, see it, hit it.
That was him being less stubborn and making some changes he needed to make at the plate.
I've been looking forward to this from the second I knew he was going to play. Everyone in the game has wanted to play behind him at one point. We'd love to send Roger out with a gold medal around his neck.
I think chemistry is probably our greatest asset right now. It can only be a good thing. These guys are close knit.
I didn't know that; I'm glad you didn't tell me before the game. I'm glad we could avoid that from being a hot topic in the morning.
He's far and away, I think, the MVP of this league.
It was kinda cool - a career highlight. I don't care if it is an exhibition game. To be able to run around the bases with USA across my chest and have ( Ken Griffey ) Junior and Brian Schneider waiting at home plate to slap high-fives. That was special.
I'm going to hear it from Oscar when we get back to camp.
I'm very impressed. I've been wanting to go over to Japan for a long time to play on the All-Star tour. Everybody tells me they usually kick our butts when we go over there. So major league-caliber baseball is played over in Japan, too.
It wouldn't have been a real memorable one,
It's good to get us out to a lead. Unfortunately, that was pretty much it. It feels good to get back in there.
