case city cut december january returns revenue sales sort tax
Just as is the case with the sales tax, once we get those returns in we'll cut the city a check. By December or January we should be able to get an idea of what sort of revenue the tax will generate,
city favor jobs longer supporting
If those jobs were back in the city of Burlington, I would no longer be in favor of supporting the lawsuit.
affected businesses city currently inside limits mail notices others possibly tax
We didn't mail notices just to businesses inside the city limits because there are others that may be affected by the tax if they currently lease in the city or possibly will in the future,
against anybody city council developer economic focus funding good greater grow help job major past president sitting takes time
One of the major things the city does is to help through funding of Grow Greater Burlington. I would put Dennis Hinkle (vice president of economic development for the chamber) up against any economic developer in the state. ... He's done a great job, an outstanding job and that's the major way that the city takes on that role. He's full?time. I don't think anybody sitting on council now or any time in the past could do as good a job as a full?time economic development focus person.

Before this budget year, I knew I had to replace the sidewalks at my house, but I didn't push to get that in there because the city didn't have the money for it. But I could have absolutely benefited from that program.

bikes cut drinking driving forget guys hope noise park ride worry
Some of these guys are going to ride down and just park their bikes and forget about them. They won't have to worry about drinking and driving or anything else. We hope that will cut down some of the noise and traffic.
beat goal twice
That was my goal after he beat me twice this season.
rock roll
To be a rock & roll suicide, he probably glamorized it a little bit.
built color stuck technology tried
When they built the first one in 1981, they didn't have the technology to do much. They tried to play with color and form, but they were pretty much stuck with a box.
believe difficult premium
We believe this premium valuation ... is difficult to justify.
ready signs talking work
I got some work to do, ... I've got signs ready to go and I'll be talking to people.
accounting adjusted business charge decide fee pay percent receive required tax
If they charge a rental fee of $100 now, that fee may be $104 in the future, but that is something each business will decide for themselves, ... We'll receive a monthly accounting of rentals and leases from each business and the 4 percent tax will be applied. In the beginning, each business will be required to pay the tax monthly, but later, that can be adjusted to quarterly or every other month, whichever the business prefers.
