everybody followed last shoes year
I was in their shoes last year and had no idea what to do. I just followed what everybody else did.
felt game nerves pace played rest second speeds time
All your nerves take over and the game speeds up on you, and all of a sudden, there's nothing you can do. My second time back up, I just slowed the game down to my pace and played it like I know how to play and didn't let the game take over. I felt a lot more comfortable the rest of my time up there.
front guys locker luggage matter morning wednesday
It was a matter of elimination. We got there Wednesday morning with about 30 guys in the locker room. Then at 8:15, there were 25 guys in the locker room. No one called or said anything. Everyone on the 25-man roster had a set of luggage in front of his locker.
control goes pressure
I don't like to put pressure on myself that if I don't do well I'm not going to be here, I'm going to be in Triple-A. I don't think about that. All you can do is go out and take control of what you can control on the mound. Everything else that goes on, you have no control over.
doubting expect mean motivate people team
With a lot of people doubting us, that's going to motivate us. We expect to contend. Just because we have a young team doesn't mean we don't have a shot.
