eye facing gets guys strike throwing
He's one of those guys who makes you feel like you're out there facing a Maddux in his old days, when he was throwing a little harder. It's like if he gets down in the strike zone, he could throw a strike with his eye closed.
good job missed
I don't know if we missed out on an opportunity, because they're a good team, too. But we just didn't get the job done,
fall sudden
I didn't think about it. I probably would just keep going. You keep going and then all of a sudden you fall on your face.
winning
Honestly, .500 would be great. Just winning would be great. Just to get something positive, that's enough.
fastball guy looking middle pitch
He's not a guy who makes a lot of mistakes. He can get away with a fastball down the middle because you're looking for a pitch on the corner.
fans maybe rarely unless yelling
I don't look, ... Maybe once on a while. But very rarely -- unless the fans are yelling 'Yankees stink.'
chance crucial fit good help produced swing
He produced at a crucial time. He has a good swing and some power. He would have had a chance to be our first baseman. He is a good fit and should help the Marlins.
helping matter negative positive staying

appreciate city jump people seem wish
Everybody's here early. People seem to appreciate how we're playing. This city doesn't jump on your back, but people wish us the best. They're cool.
appreciate dominate great guys knew love played side till tough
They love him here. They love guys who dominate in this city. So they really appreciate his greatness. You always knew that. But this was something more. This is a tough place to play. And he's played great for them. They're on his side now till the day he dies.
special
Nothing special - the same old Lieber. He doesn't make mistakes.
bodies card division guys healthy kept opportunity stand surprised wild win
It's always important to see where you stand as a team. In a division like this, you need all the healthy bodies you can go with. But I'm not surprised with how we've kept it together. I just think guys know what's at stake; the opportunity to win the Wild Card doesn't come around too often, so ...
confidence hit somebody throw
I've just got that confidence that I can throw somebody out if they hit it to me.
bottom good
It's very high. We have to win. It's in our hands. If we win, good things happen. That's the bottom line.
