anyone anytime ball consistency harder hit todd
has hit the ball harder with more consistency than anyone on this ballclub. Anytime you have Todd Helton on your ballclub, that's something.
allowed effort good run seven starting
If we get that kind of effort (one run allowed by Jennings in seven innings) from our starting pitching, we are going to be in good shape.
changes might offense
Might be some other changes to try and get some offense jump-started.
plays
It's still a long season. We'll see how it plays out.
involved teams west
All the teams in the West feel like they have a shot. We aren't involved in (the race). But we could be very involved.
five pitch throws
If he throws 100 pitches, he's got to pitch five innings.
anybody deal few issues last less movement teams
Teams had issues to deal with over the winter. We had less than most anybody because we had so much more movement the last few years.
addition later welcome
He's going to be a welcome addition to our club. He'll just be later than earlier.
catcher depth fragile good group groups position starts
The (improvement) starts with the bullpen. That is a pretty good group for us, one of the better groups we have had. And at catcher we have depth there where before it was a fragile position for us.
difficult extended front goal hold knew onto players start task

guys happen hitter rebuilding talking terms unless
It would be like guys talking about cars. Rebuilding a carburetor is nothing for them. For me, that's an impossibility, it's not going to happen unless I take it somewhere. But for a hitter those are terms that are pretty commonplace.
contract
I have a contract here and I'm big on loyalty. I'm big on my word.
area burn critical glass guys honest location next pitch somebody time
Nobody's under a magnifying glass. You put somebody under a magnifying glass long enough, you burn them. The guys that didn't pitch well, they know who they are. Through honest self-evaluation, they'll see their location and the adjustments they need to make the next time out. That'll be the critical area to watch.
doubt earlier fourth hitting matt mind months protection providing season statement
There's no doubt in my mind that he's gong to get better, and that's what I told Matt earlier in the season when we had a sit-down. I said, 'You're not just hitting fourth anymore. You're our cleanup hitter.' Two months later, I told him, 'What you are doing now is providing protection in the lineup.' That's a big statement for a second-year player.
