buddy disagree disappear fact happen hear indy lost momentum pushing series solely time tony
The one thing I do disagree with the IRL on is the fact that they are pushing Danica solely. ... Do you hear about Buddy Rice, who is the 2004 Indy 500 champion? Do you hear about my teammate, Tony Kanaan, who is the 2004 IndyCar Series champion? You really don't. With the momentum they've created, they shouldn't be pushing one person solely at this point. ... Because if Danica should happen to disappear and do something else, then you've lost that momentum and you haven't used the momentum you've got at the time to push other people.
button coming expect forget good lane pit push race speed
I didn't expect the race to go like that, and I didn't think I'd forget to push the pit lane speed button coming into the pits. When you make an error, as long as you make up for it, it's a good day.
forward point proving
I look forward to proving a point to him.
emotions happy mixed sad second
but I have mixed emotions. I'm happy to be second but I'm also sad to be second.
babies baby car equal lost tires treatment
They will never give me equal treatment because I'm the baby of the team, ... My rental car has probably lost its tires by now.
cars front green
The superspeedways, with the cars we have at Andretti Green Racing, you can get to the front pretty quick,
finally hard until work
A lot of the hard work was done at Chicago, but until you finally clinch it, I don't think you feel like you have. I'm ecstatic.
bit boys difficult excited help japan last league learned nice push rookie short struggled teammates until
The one thing I've learned about this league is don't get excited too soon, ... It's going to be a difficult race. My teammates are going to push me really hard. Last year, I struggled a little bit on the short ovals. The boys have been a big help to me. It's nice to have your first pole. I'm still a rookie until Japan so I have a lot to learn.
favorite love means memories race season somewhat special statistic wins
That statistic of most race wins in a season is something pretty special to me. I love the Indianapolis 500, and that's always going to be my favorite race in the world, and it's going to be one of the fondest memories of my life, but that statistic somewhat means as much to a championship for me.
expect flyer lap team
Now when we get to Watkins Glen, that's going to be the slowest lap in history. I'm going to tell the team not to expect me to set a flyer on that first one.
races six special strong winning
Winning the Indianapolis 500 was very special to me, ... but winning six races is something I'll look back on and think that was a strong season.
chicago ground hoping lost obviously swing toward
We obviously lost some ground toward the championship, which makes Chicago a very important race, ... I'm hoping we can get back in the swing of things.
cars close earlier engine felt hold line pick practice running speed strange strong teammates tony weekend
Tony and I did it to the Penskes earlier in the weekend in practice. If you've got two cars running in line very close to each other, you can pick up speed like that. It felt strange running up there by myself, because I'm used to having Tony or one of my other teammates around. But I had a strong enough engine to hold them off.
difficult good hopefully job prayers sad thoughts vicious
What's very important is our thoughts and prayers are with the Dana family. It's a sad day. Just a very, very sad day. It's difficult under such difficult circumstances. It's a job that can be pretty vicious at times. Hopefully we put on a good race.
