We were confident that we were going to catch up with him. We had an ID. It's certainly a relief anytime you've got a guy that's robbed that many banks. He's going to keep doing it, and eventually he's going to get caught.

There are tons of examples in which we can't get a hold of anyone when we want to find a relative. It can't but help to have a backup contact.

Obviously, we don't condone this type of behavior. We will say that all three deputies came forward when we approached them with this information, which we received in an anonymous letter. From the get-go, we believe that they were truthful with us, and certainly that helps their cases, because it's hard to prove these things.

You would think the last victim of a burglary would be a marked unit. It shows audacity to do something like this. Audacity or stupidity, I'm not sure which.
