There's such vitriol and backlash out of consumers to price increases that you want to get it over all at once. If you have to use a hammer to hit your thumb, would you rather five small taps or one hit? That's essentially what's going on. On the way down, there's nervousness about whether the commodity markets are going to spin around and take all your margins again.
