awful hockey ice remain
Erik is an awful important part to our hockey team. He's going to remain an important part. He just won't be on the ice with us.
attribute best maybe
I've always said about Jordan, maybe his best attribute is his competitiveness.
chalk positive sharper step tonight took weekend
I chalk that up to nothing more than coincidence. Tonight we were just sharper offensively than we were on Friday. We didn't get a lot of chances, but the ones we had, we made count. We wanted to take one step this weekend and we took one positive step.
close gets good group guys maybe pride says team
The No. 1 thing it says is that what our team is doing offensively maybe gets more of the headlines. But if you take a close look at this team, they're a group of guys who take a lot of pride in good team defense.
battle final forward hockey proud step took
It was a battle out there, right down to the final buzzer. I'm very, very proud of our hockey team. We took another step forward tonight.
brings brought certain leader leadership level obvious offense time veteran year
It was obvious what (Stafford) added. Not only the offense he brings, he also brings a certain level of calmness. He's been a leader in that way. The more veteran leadership this time of year is a big positive. I thought he brought some real stability.
chip early five four home lost playing row slowly
Early in the year, we lost four or five in a row at home, and you don't get all those back at once. You just have to slowly chip away, and we feel like we're playing pretty well at home right now.
awful change expected friday morning sunday work
Things change an awful lot. From Friday morning to Sunday morning, those standings can take on a whole different look. There's nothing expected or guaranteed. You have to go out and work for what you get.
ability afraid experience guys half learning mental next
One thing I really like about these guys is that they're not afraid to play. If they make a mistake, they're not afraid to go out there the next shift. The first half (of the season) as a freshman, there is a pretty big learning curve. The only way to go through it is to experience it, if you have the mental ability and toughness.
college four great hockey sign teams
You've got four very competitive regions. It's a great sign for where college hockey is at. All 16 teams are competitive.
areas guys plays score three zones
(The freshmen) made a lot of plays in a lot of areas of the game, not only getting on the score sheet. Guys made plays in all three zones in the rink. That's positive.
anybody areas effort efforts happy liked performance saw second
I don't think anybody was too happy with our performance and effort (Thursday) night. I thought as a team, we responded well to the challenge. I really liked the second efforts we saw in all different areas - not just the goals.
change depending job looking performance
This is tough. No use looking at the standings on Friday, because through a weekend, depending on your performance and job you get done, things change pretty drastically.
brings calmness certain drew good level plays
Drew is very important because he plays in all situations. He brings a certain level of calmness and good stability.
