both fit game open players playing talented
They're both talented players and both of them are used to playing with more open ice. It's a game where they really should fit in.
deal people players positive pushes success tradition
There's a lot of tradition in this organization, and expectations are very high. The players who come in here deal with those expectations in a positive way, and it pushes people forward. Success is something that is earned, and our players have that kind of mentality.
exciting guys ice wait
There's a lot of things that we're going to find out, but that's exciting to me. I can't wait to get these guys out on the ice and see what they can do as a group.
solid
It was just a solid hit. That's part of the game.
bad focus giving habits puck taking talked team turning
The focus for our team is doing things right. We talked about habits ... That's not turning the puck over, that's not taking bad penalties, that's not giving outnumbered rushes. Those are habits you have to have in place going into the playoffs.
anxious coach enthusiasm greatest love missed spirits
The greatest thing is the players' spirits are unbelievable. You can tell they're anxious to get back. They missed the game, they love the game. That makes it great for a coach when you have that enthusiasm on the ice.
dynamic great hard jumps score watch works
You watch that team, and he's a dynamic player. He's great one-on-one. The thing that jumps out is how hard he works to score goals.
happens last minutes win
You've got 60 minutes to win the game. It just happens we've used the last 20 a lot of times.
color easier game goal hair happened last led win
The goal is to win the game and you have 60 minutes. It just so happened that we used the last 20 to do that. It would be easier on the coaches' hair color if we led a little more.
coming extend goal hockey indication played playing stretch team
The goal is to extend our lead. We've played well enough to do that. It's an indication that the team is coming around and playing the kind of hockey we need to play going down the stretch and into the playoffs.
determination determined dressing felt room
The dressing room felt pretty good, but you never know. It wasn't exuberance, just a determination -- a very determined mind-set ... that we were going to get something done tonight.
points sit valuable
If you look at the 11 points we have in shootouts, the way the standings sit right now, that's a big swing. They're valuable points. I don't think you can ever underestimate them.
bottom cost couple individual mistakes
It's a couple of individual mistakes that cost us the game. That's the bottom line.
adversity challenge desperate good guys looked playing
It's a challenge when we're playing desperate teams. We looked tired. Even when we were pushing, we looked tired. We have to get the guys some rest. But I think this adversity can be good for us if we use it to our advantage.
