I received a letter from Betty Friday announcing that she will not seek re-election as probate judge and I was disappointed to hear that. In her letter she thanked the party and her supporters and stated that she plans to remain active in the party.

She was a very good probate judge. She was well liked and she represented her office very well. Of course she has an excellent support staff and I'm certain they will carry on.

I think it's a good field, and there's still a few to come. We've got a lot of highly qualified people. I don't think the Democrats in Cullman County are quite satisfied with the way things are going. We think it's time for a change.
