We knew they were much bigger than us defensively, but our key was to rotate and be where were supposed to be. We had to have a lot of ball-crashing and we did that. Nine players dressed and everybody contributed.

We knew they (South Carolina State) were smaller. We wanted to get the ball inside and take advantage of our size.

I think the players have finally begun to find themselves. Defensively, we have a better understanding of what we are trying to do.

You can't put (Delaware State) on the line 19 times in the first half and be playing defense.

I'm real encouraged about next year. I feel we could have done a lot better this year with the people that we have. That was a disappointment, but we can't go back. We have to move forward and learn from what we did.
growth hurt last minutes needed team time year
The only two newcomers that play significant minutes last year have been hurt this year. This team just needed time for growth and maturity.
