I'm not a hermit, but I definitely stay in a lot more than I used to. There's more attention now then there ever was. You walk down the street with someone and it's a story. It becomes national news, you know what I mean? So, I still do things, but I stay home a lot more.
You'd love to be at home but we're not really worried about it, ... It doesn't make any difference where you play. You still have to play well.
It doesn't seem like the season really gets under way until you have your home opener
The guy's (Shane Spencer) ridiculous. No one hits home runs like that. I'm telling you, man, it's ridiculous.
It took him 75 steps to get from third to home. I thought we were going to have to go out there and help him. A lot of players start thinking double then maybe wind up with a triple because the outfielder slips.
You have to be confident, if you're not confident you might as well go home.
Good for him. Now he has the chance to be remembered for something other than just catching a home run.
We've been playing important games for the last month or so now. It doesn't matter whether we're home or on the road.
I guess that was a big home run for us, huh? I'll have to find that game (Mexico-Canada) on some satellite somewhere. No, I don't think I'll be at the game.
They're all special. It seems like the season hasn't really officially started until we play our home opener.
I think it was a wake-up call for people. I don't think a lot of people were aware of the rules. At this point, you have to play well every day. They're short series. In a short little round, there are only three games. You have to treat every game like it's a big one.
I think it's what a lot of people expected at the beginning of the season, us and Boston back in the playoffs.
It goes without saying how special a player he is, what he represents in the game. So it was an honor for me that he wanted to take a picture. He wanted to take a picture with me? It was definitely a good feeling.
Just because you've seen a guy doesn't mean you're going to get hits off him the next time. He seemed to bear down when guys got on base, and when he got ahead, he threw that split.
