best guys stay suck worrying
As a coach, you've got to do what's best for the team. If guys don't like it, they're going to leave. If they stay and don't like it, well, your team's going to suck anyway. Even if this happens, you still have to do it. You can't coach worrying about any individual.
best change changed coverage defensive eight four last normally san seven team three
San Antonio is the best defensive team in the last seven or eight years. They don't normally change things, but they changed their (defensive) coverage three or four times in that game. It didn't work, unfortunately.
best davis goes guards hell hit hope lasts obviously point theirs tough
They're good. They've obviously hit a tough patch, but you know it's not going to last. Baron Davis is a hell of a player. He's one of the best point guards in the league. Everyone goes through a tough stretch. I just hope theirs lasts one more game.
best everybody seen sure sustained
I think this is the best everybody has seen him play. I'm sure he has had some runs, but this is a sustained run.
best calm featured game gets good guy job letting plays quality videotape watching
He's not going to be a guy that will be featured on ESPN, but he may be a guy that is featured on our videotape when we're watching film as a team. To me, that's always more important. He does a lot of things well and he does them the right way. His best quality is that he plays with a calm and he gets the job done. He's so good at letting the game come to him.
allowed changed four game kept key moving small stretch whoever
I thought we changed the game and we went small with four smalls and one big. It allowed us to stretch the floor, and pick-and-roll. Whoever it was, the key was we kept moving the ball.
acted beat believed looked miami scoreboard
I thought we looked at the scoreboard and acted like we may be able to beat the Miami Heat. But I don't know if we, at the end, believed we could beat them.
difference felt game ourselves points record second won
I thought the difference in the game was that we had two turnovers in the second half, after going for a record it felt like in the first half. We scored 29 points off of turnovers ourselves and that is why we won the game.
gets hate missed quarter quick row run shot six worse
I thought that was the difference. We missed a quick shot then he made six in a row and that gets it to nine. You hate them making a run at the end of a quarter because you have to sub and it just gets worse from there.
effort gave good guys luggage mind plane selection shot
I thought some guys gave good effort tonight, but some have their luggage in mind on the plane already. Turnovers and shot selection killed us.
bench half picked quarter reason soft third though won
I thought our first half was as soft defensively as we'd been all year. We started the third quarter the same way but then our bench picked us up. Even though (our bench) was outscored, I thought they were the reason we won the game.
expect figure happen surprises understand veterans
I think the veterans expect pain. They understand what is going to happen and they keep rolling. With young guys, it surprises them. They haven't had it probably before in their lives. They have to figure out, first, if they can play, and then they have to figure out how to play with it.
cleveland larry
Larry is going to be missed. If Larry can be back for the playoffs, no one will want to play Cleveland if he's right.
needed saw sitting tony
I saw Tony just sitting there when we started practice. That told me all I needed to know.
