Dominik Hašek; born January 29, 1965) is a retired Czech ice hockey goaltender. In his 16-season National Hockey Leaguecareer, he played for the Chicago Blackhawks, Buffalo Sabres, Detroit Red Wings and the Ottawa Senators. It was a tough time. Eddie was the starter, I was the backup. Fortunately, Mike traded me to Buffalo and it was good luck for me. Finally, I proved to myself I could be a starting goalie.
He didn't tell me if I'd be the starting goalie or the backup goalie or what his plans are.
I went to make a butterfly and went down. He shot it top shelf, and my glove wasn't there. It was a goal scorer's move.
He is a great goalie and the Czech Republic will be OK in goal with him.
I signed his half and he signed mine. I still have my half.
It was a good workout for me, ... We scored power-play goals ? that was the big difference in tonight's game. We scored three and they couldn't score on the power play. My teammates cleared the rebounds. I made the first save and the whole game, maybe once or twice, they had a second shot.

I try to have fun. Sometimes I have more fun, sometimes I have less fun. But overall I still believe that this team can do it without me and when I'll be ready, I'll be ready.
I am not afraid to stop the puck with my head. I try to do it sometimes even in practice; not everyday but once in a while, I say to my teammates, shoot me in my head and I'll try to stop the puck. I am not afraid at all of the puck, so sometimes, if the shot comes at my head, it's an easier save to make with your head. Maybe the people think a different way, but for me, I do it with my head.
