close good low possible quickly
It's a very good idea to close in quickly because she (Young) is so good in the low post. She's a mismatch and she will score, but you want to do anything possible to frustrate her.
beat bigger good normally proved
Normally we just beat up on each other and no one has a real sense of how good we are. This year, we went out and proved we could beat some bigger schools.
anyone darn defense good offense run tough
They're tough to defend. They run their offense as well as anyone in the conference. That was some pretty darn good defense - sometimes they didn't even get a shot.
basketball deserving fact good ourselves separate stand teams
I like the fact that we separate ourselves from the men's (Sunday announcement). The teams are deserving of that. Women's basketball can stand on its own, and that's a good way to get started.
create defense defensive good great hard screens work
That was a great defensive effort, because Wyoming is a very good team. They set so many screens and work really hard to create good shots. For a while there, our defense was really, really good.
anybody background buy dream good gotten hard nobody stands visualize
If we had gotten her, we would have been good right away. I don't think she could visualize the same dream that I had. I just had nothing to sell. The only thing I had was my idea of success. It's hard to get anybody to buy in when you've got nobody in the stands and your background is that your RPI is 325 out of 330 teams.
defending gave national quicker
They were just quicker at every position. And that gave us trouble. They were the better team. They showed why they are the defending national champions.
defended half played second
I thought the second half we played harder. We executed a little better and we defended a little better.
cuts definitely hard motion plays running time
I like triangle, but we have a hard time even running set plays with this team, so motion is definitely the better option. Even if everyone doesn't find the right spot, they're always making cuts and moving. If they move, they score.
calm difficult errors hyper julie loves tendency trying
Julie just loves basketball, and I'm trying to get her to calm her down. She has a tendency to get a little hyper and when she does that she makes some errors in her decisions. When she's relaxed, she's difficult to defend.
highly risk rush unlikely
I think it's highly unlikely she'll play. We don't want to rush her back and risk aggravating the injury.
confident freshman hard moments time work
I feel confident every time I put her in there that she's going to work hard and won't back down from anyone. She has some freshman moments from time to time, but I really don't feel like there's any drop-off when I put her in the game.
happy improved obviously plus work year
She's improved dramatically from one year to the next, plus she's healthy. She's still got some things to work on overall, but we're obviously very happy with where she's at.
beat bit conference expect people says
That's awesome. It says a lot about our conference when people expect us to beat each other up a little bit and don't penalize us for it.
