Edward Palmer Thompson, usually cited as E. P. Thompson, was a British historian, writer, socialist and peace campaigner. I wanted to get the guys used to the road environment and not let it affect the way we play. Our conference is tough, and in order to do well, you have to play well on the road.
That's what the state tournament is all about. Every team there is a good team. It wasn't necessarily a matter of what we didn't do, but what they did. But we didn't make adjustments. We had a good season though. I'm proud of the team.
The kids knew--the three oldest didn't really say anything the whole ride home, and the two youngest didn't really understand.
