confidence feels good healthy knows question rotation rough
He has had a rough year, no question about it. But he knows that he's in the rotation now, and he feels good about his game. I think he's as healthy as he's been all year, and he knows we have confidence in him.
knows leader showing time winning
It's winning time for him. It's time to make a move. He knows it. We all know it. I think he's just going out there and being a leader for us, showing us this is how to get it done.
five four might seems teams
It seems like it's always like this. It might not be four and five teams but it always seems like there are at least two or three.
along conversation floor locker mistake public saw slight
He's a professional. He probably made a slight mistake by going public before he had a conversation with the GM, but I've said all along he's been a professional on the floor at practice, in the locker room, on the planes, on busses. I never saw any real unhappiness or anything like that.
biggest blunders playoff thinking
I was thinking I'd just made one of the biggest blunders in playoff history.
four front games measure mission ourselves package remaining start stay
A disappointing loss. But to start the new year, we have a five-game mission in front of us. We're down one, and we're still going to stay positive. We'll see where the remaining four games of the five-game package will take us, and we'll measure ourselves after that.
begin confronted corruption dealt face process stain
I think that we have to begin a process of removing the stain of corruption from Louisiana, and I think that, in this case, we have confronted corruption squarely in the face and we have dealt with it appropriately and fairly,
adversity against calls competing continued deal defense distracted good learn missed paint physical plague played poor second
They just outplayed us in the second half. They were more physical than us in the paint and the same things continued to plague us - poor third-quarter performance, not competing in the paint, and being distracted by what's going on at the other end of the court. We have to learn to deal with adversity and not be distracted by missed calls or good defense being played against us.
added bigger character experience guys heart man
I've always said that it's about talent, toughness, experience and character in this league, ... We've added two other players, and Antonio Daniels, who give us all of those qualities. The heart is bigger than the man sometimes, and that's what we have. We have competitive players. Guys who are experienced, guys who are talented. We think that is going to take us to another level.
excuse excuses locker looking room
I need to put you in the locker room because they're looking for excuses too,
fourth held last locked minutes points seven
That last seven minutes we locked down defensively. We held them to 13 points in the fourth quarter.
calls came distracted energy felt game half lost second
You've got to give them (Memphis) credit. They came back with a lot more energy in the second half and they got the juice. I felt we were distracted by some of the officials' calls and we lost our focus. That was the part of the game I was disappointed in.
admire brown changes coaches coaching good guys help larry realize sitting teams trying
You see a lot of good coaches just coaching their players, making changes and trying to help their teams win. I see Larry Brown sitting guys down. Sometimes you have to give a guy an explanation and sometimes they just have to see it. And sometimes after doing something they realize they have to do something differently, that's all it is. I admire those coaches and I want to be a good coach.
effort found looked mud stuck
It was another really gutsy effort from our guys. We looked like we were stuck in the mud but we found a way.
