I try to be a smart quarterback. I'm not the fastest or the best athlete, but if I can know what the defense is doing and stick to my job and what needs to be done I can make the plays needed to move the ball and score.
In New York, they like winners. They don't like second place.
Be committed to whatever you're doing. That's something I've taken to heart and tried to do with whatever activities I take up.
I go through life with a smile because I know things can be worse than they are.
With the game on the line. I want the ball in my hands.
That's been one of our goals from the beginning of the season and it would be a big accomplishment for this team. It's been in our sights the past couple of weeks and now it's here for us to have if we want it. It's just a matter of whether we can go out there and play football well enough.
I'm just going to try to go out there and play well. Obviously my concerns are about this game against Carolina. I don't have to do anything that's not there and is not going to be open. You have to hit the guys and play smart football.
I played at LSU stadium a few times, and things were rowdy and fans were yelling things. In the SEC, the quarterback is going to get harassed in those big stadiums. But I don't know if I've ever played in a place where a team had reason to dislike me.
I'm upset. You prepare and hope that you go out there in a big game and big situation and play well, and put your team in a situation to win. And today I didn't do that. I didn't play well. I didn't make enough plays. I made too many mistakes for us to win today.
I had all the confidence in Jay. I knew he was going to hit a big one for us.
I pumped on that one and he made a great catch, ... That got things going for us. That was a huge play.
It is shocking. We haven't had a performance like this before. We've always found a way to move the ball and score points, and today we just couldn't do anything. I wish I had a reason why. We've had bad games before where the next week you come in and work on something and hopefully get better, but this performance is one we'll have to think about for the next several months.
It was just kind of the way the day went.
It's going to be meaningful and exciting. It's going to be something different, something I've never done before.
