If the guy's safe there and the runner goes to second base, I deserve to be taken out to the tunnel and chewed out. But it did work out for us.

Last year there was never really a spot where somebody had to come in and fill in ... for an extended period. You usually have that at some point. I don't know if I would have gotten a chance, but if you keep playing, at some point you get a chance to go out on a more regular basis and you have to be ready.

You just kind of watch the game and see where you might fit in and try to mentally prepare yourself for when the time comes up. When I hit it, I wasn't real sure. I didn't get a whole lot of that ball, but it was just enough.
