It was a massive cull, ... So many bands were dropped, just like that. It didn't stop us making records, and we always tried to get a new deal, but no-one was interested. I saw the way it works it's like, you have your chance, and if you don't make it, that's it.

It hasn't got the scuzzy rock of the Vaselines, or the more refined scuzzy rock of Eugenius. It comes from writing songs on an acoustic guitar. I bought one again and, playing it in a public place, the songs just started to flow out.
